Restore steel garden furniture

It's officially spring, which means spending more time outdoors.... yah! But if your steel garden furniture is an eyesore, it's time to grab your Dremel Multitool and sanding ring, as well as a can of Rust-Oleum Universal spray paint.

Don't leave rust for too long. Before you know it, it will eat through the steel and furniture will be beyond repair. There are various ways to remove rust... You can use Rust-Oleum Rust Stripper, which is a bit messy but works like a dream or you can pop a steel brush into your drill/driver or drill.

Or you can use a Dremel Rotary Tool with brush or sanding ring, and this tool is perfect for steel and wire garden furniture, as it lets you get into all the small areas.

I like to use a combination of my Dremel Multitool to strip off any flaking paint and remove the top layer of rust and then apply Rust-Oleum Rust Stripper to get rid of the rest.

Once the furniture is rust-free sand down with 180-grit sandpaper to smooth the surface and prepare for painting.

Wipe clean before applying two light, even coats of Rust-Oleum Universal spray paint in your choice of colour - or metallic finish. Rust-Oleum Universal Oil-Rubbed Bronze was used for this garden set.
