Throughout the year we tend our gardens, small and large, and Garden Day is a day to sit back, relax with friends and enjoy all the hard work you put into your garden.

Kick off your wellies, put aside your garden gloves and invite family and friends around to celebrate the joys of your own piece of paradise.

Visit your local Garden Centre or nursery if you're looking for inspiration to design the perfect garden - and don't forget to incorporate as many water wise methods as possible!

Share with family and friends

There are so many different ways to celebrate your beautiful garden…

Invite neighbours and friends round for rooibos tea en beskuit, or instead of book club - have a plant club. Ask guests to bring a rare and interesting plant to swap with one of the other guests. Let grown ups and kids have a garden scavenger hunt. Or, enjoy dinner outside in the garden with each dish featuring a home-grown ingredient.

Anyone and everyone can take part in Garden Day – whether you have a small or large garden – you just need a sense of fun, community, and hospitality. If you don’t have your own garden, visit someone who does and enjoy it with them.
