Make a wall-mounted storage cabinet for a garage
A wall-mounted storage cabinet is a great way to contain all your essential, smaller items in one spot. You can easily add plastic storage boxes to keep everything in order.

2 handles
2 magnetic door catches
8 shelf pins
Drill/Driver plus assorted drill and screw bits
Countersink bit
Orbital sander and 180- or 220-grit sanding pads
Table saw
HERE'S HOW:
Have your plywood cut to size at your local Builders Warehouse. Assemble the frame by attaching the sides to the top and bottom - leave a 10mm gap at the top and bottom edge of each side. Drill pilot holes and countersink before using 4 x 30mm wood screws. Insert the centre panel and screw in place.
GOOD TO KNOW
Before assembly, drill holes for mounting the shelves. It's far easier to do this before assembly.
Use a table saw to cut the slots for the door panels.
GOOD TO KNOW
If you don't have access to a table saw, make the frames up from 3 sections - the inner section being narrower - and then glue and clamp these together.
Insert the pegboard panel into the side slots. Use a pockethole jig and screws to attach the side frames to the top and bottom frames.
Use a piano hinge to mount both doors onto the cabinet frame. Install magnetic catches on the interior vertical support at the very bottom. This keeps the doors closed and gives a much nicer appearance to the cabinet. Finally, attach the handles.
To mount the storage cabinet onto the wall, follow our instructions for hanging heavy items.
