Older model drill / drivers have a battery pack that will eventually fail. There aren't many repair installations around that can still rebuild these but you can buy some replacement batteries and rebuild your own battery pack to give your power tool a longer life.
Bear in mind that not all battery packs are the same and you will need to source replacement rechargeable batteries that match the old ones.
YOU WILL NEED:
Replacement batteries
Screwdriver to match screws used
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Soldering iron and rosin-core solder
Wire
Clamps
HERE'S HOW:

1. Using the old battery pack as a reference, lay a row of new batteries on your work table. Arrange the polarity and solder tabs in the same direction as the old pack and then use hot glue to fasten them together.
GOOD TO KNOW: Protect the battery by clamping a heat sink onto the tabs before you solder.
2. Solder the tabs together with rosin-core solder. Repeat for additional rows of batteries.
3. Transfer the temperature sensor and insulators from the old battery and reinstall in the plastic case. Charge it up, test it out and start your next home DIY project.
