I am always on the lookout for power tool innovations and advancements where new tools are launched to replace previous models and these new tools not only replace older tools but also make life far easier. One of those tools is the WORX cordless circular saw. First off, I am very impressed with the fact that it is battery-operated and then there is the fact of the size. Small, compact, and powerful, the WORX circular saw certainly ticks all my boxes.
Anyone who loves to do a bit of DIY or woodworking in their spare time, contractors who work mostly onsite, or anyone who frequently cuts or trims timber of board will love this circular saw.
Putting the WORX Circular Saw to the Test
Trimming away excess SupaWood is easy using the WORX cordless circular saw.
My son is busy renovating a kitchen for a friend and the existing cupboards are being given a coat of paint, new doors, and a few adjustments. Some of the cupboards need trimming to fit into the space and, not wanting to have to take the cupboards or frames apart, we were thinking of an easy way to trim these. In most instances, a circular saw would come to mind, but it is heavy and cumbersome and not a tool you want to use for precise cutting or trimming jobs. For this type of task, you require a cutting tool with more maneuverability - one that you can easily glide along the cut line without too much effort.
Lightweight, compact design and battery-operated, the WORX cordless circular saw can go anywhere!
The WORX circular saw utilises an innovative plunge mechanism that allows you to perform jobs accurately and safely.
Known for its versatility, despite its compact size, the WORX circular saw can handle any jobs that a conventional circular saw can and with its 20-Volt battery it can cut a wide selection of materials including acrylics, PVC, timber and board, thin metal, and aluminium, as well as ceramics.
The WORX cordless circular saw makes it easy to use all your timber and board offcuts by cutting them to exact sizes.
For this test, we needed to trim a frame to size by removing 2 centimetres of material along the edge of the frame. Not easy using a conventional circular saw and not neatly done using a jigsaw. The WORX circular saw made easy work of the job with accuracy and far less hard work.
A pencil mark was drawn around the entire frame where the cut was to be made. Now, if you are not that great at following a straight line the easy solution would be to use a steel rule or straightedge and clamp this along the line to glide the circular saw in a straight line along the mark.
