Marsala is Pantone's Colour of the Year for 2015
Pantone Colour of the Year, Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth

As the global authority on colour, Pantone's announcement for Colour of the Year is always highly anticipated. However, while Pantone's colours for previous years have been more on the vibrant side, this year's colour is more suited to home accessories than adorning walls, especially in our hot climate. In fact, Pantone themselves state "Nurturing and fulfilling, Marsala is a natural fit for the kitchen and dining room – making it ideal for tabletop, small appliances and linens throughout the home."
The brownish-red hues of Marsala do make it an ideal colour for the colder months of the year, adding warmth to any room setting. And the rich earthy tone will most definitely add depth to any neutral colour scheme lacking in personality. But personally, this colour is dull and lacks the energy of previous colour selections.
