Ordinary doors become a feature
Pop into your local Builders Warehouse for some pine moulding and cut mirror panels and transform your interior doors into a stand out feature.
It is amazing how something as inexpensive as a few strips of pine moulding, mirror panels and basic tools and supplies can make such a big difference to a standard interior (hollow core) door.
A mitre box is a simple hand tool to use for cutting corners. However, you do need to use a backsaw, or a saw that has a reinforced top that prevent the blade from bending as you cut. When cutting 45-degree angles you want these to be as perfect as possible so that everything fits together neatly. Click here for tips on using a mitre box or make your own simple mitre box.
Visit the timber section at your local Builders store to check out the pine moulding they have in stock and at the same time have mirror panels to fit. To secure the mirror panels on the door only use an adhesive that is suitable for mirrors. Some adhesives contain solvents that will dissolve the silver backing, so be sure to check the packaging.
