Blushing Home

In line with trends for this year, the HGTV 2017 Urban Oasis shows how beautiful spaces can be filled with whimsical blushing pink, in contrast to different shades of white, blue and black. The interiors pay homage to minimalist Dutch design with luxurious fabrics and textiles that add warmth and comfort.

This gorgeous living room brings together this year's colours of blushing pink and blue.

 

ABOVE and BELOW: Hard to believe that it's the same room. Painting the dark brown trim in a crisp white has totally changed the visual dimensions and atmosphere of the living room.

 

ABOVE and BELOW: Just off the living room, the dining room connects to the kitchen. The use of blue and white carries the colour through the open spaces.

BELOW: Black curtain hardware tops off the floor-to-ceiling windows, while flowing white drapes frame the view outdoors. A luxurious blue rug below the table grounds the space and adds colour, texture and pattern.

BELOW: A white frame surrounds an interesting piece of fabric to create a simple eye-catching display.

Streamlined and simple, and again featuring blue and white, the L-shaped kitchen retains the historic feel of this vintage home.

 

 

Black, white and pink go together beautifully for an eye-catching bedroom filled with texture, pattern and colour in a setting that is both masculine and feminine. Layers of bed linen and pillows, and elegant drapes contrast with black trim on windows and doors.

The built-in closet has a dramatic patterned wallpaper at the back to showcase the storage within.

Minimal but elegant is the tone for a reading spot on one wall in the bedroom. The black frames tie in with the black trim used throughout the bedroom.

A vintage collection of hats add charming personality and interest to the wall and soften the hard lines in the room.

Not left out... even the bathroom has a touch of pink. With its geometric tiles and black trim, the addition of pink helps to break up the otherwise monochromatic colour scheme.

Carried through to the outdoor seating area, pink and blue continue to dominate.
