Renovated farmhouse retains its rustic style

A dilapidated farmhouse is renovated and restored using indigenous materials found in the surrounding areas, and decorated to create a cosy home full of personality.

Immersed in rustic style, the renovated farmhouse retains the traditional touches enhanced with colourful decor accessories, bold prints and country chic. While white is the predominant colour, splashes of red, thick organic rugs and raw wood furniture warm up the open space in the chilly months.

With the removal of what remained of the original walls downstairs, large support beams were installed to allow for a large, shared open space. The original structure was treated with respect with the stone walls left in place.

The accents and accessories are what make this renovated farmhouse a truly livable home. The fabrics chosen for this home are typical of rural areas and highlight the country flavour of the decor.

The restoration of the farmhouse involved leaving the lower level as an open plan area and building brick walls on the upper level for the two bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom.

The original sloping ceilings, with their indigenous timber beams add overwhelming personality to the bedrooms. And the addition of roof windows floods the rooms with natural light.
