YOU WILL NEED:

Chinese paper lanterns
Scraps of fabric, wrapping paper or scrapbooking paper
Acrylic craft paint
ModPodge or clear acrylic sealer
Artists paintbrush
Ribbons, lace, or other embellishments

HERE'S HOW:

Use a small paintbrush to apply light colour blocks to the outside of the paper lantern.

Cut out flowers - or any design - from wrapping paper, scrapbooking paper or fabric. Use sharp craft scissors so that the edges are nice and neat.

Apply ModPodge or clear acrylic sealer over the surface of the paper lantern where the cut out is to be placed and gently press down the cut out. Use a small paintbrush to apply a layer of ModPodge over the surface of the cut out, making sure that all the edges are flattened down and there are no air bubbles. Apply another coat of ModPodge once the first coat is dry.

Finish off the lantern by adding your choice of embellishments. A few strips of ribbon and lace, strings of beads - you can use almost any embellishment and choose something that matches the theme of the occasion.
