CONTINUES BELOW

HERE'S HOW:

1. Sand all surfaces of the chest and drawers to create a smooth finish.

2. Using the drill and a bit the same diameter as the handle fixings, drill a hole in the centre of each drawer front. Wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth to remove dust.

DIY TIP:
Drill the face of the drawer without the finger hole.

3. Place the moulds on a level surface, mix enough plaster to cast three shapes according to the instructions and loosely stir in a thumbnail size blob of blue acrylic paint to create a marbled finish.

4. Pour plaster into the scallop mould, shell mould and small fish mould, allow plaster to thicken slightly and push a fixing bolt into centre of each shape. When set, de-mould and cast a further three in the same way.

DIY TIP:
You can support the bolts with craft sticks until the plaster is completely set.

5. Paint all sides, back and front of chest with acrylic craft paint. Meanwhile, spray two drawer fronts with each of the Rust-Oleum sandstone sprays, (you will only need two light coats).

6. Paint the drawer knobs with acrylic PVA and then dip the paintbrush in water to add shading.

7. Thread the washers over the bolts in your plaster handles to use as spacers. Fix them into the holes in the drawer fronts and fasten with a nut (you may need to cut the bolt to the correct size).

8. Finally use Woodoc Antique Wax over the entire chest, drawers and handles.
