I think this is a wonderful way to repurpose an old lampshade and give it a new life in and around the home. And you can do the same if you want to make a new shade for a table lamp. Folly and glee used a tulip-shaped frame for her colourful fabric wrapped lampshade.

Make your own ghost lampshade
To make your own ghost lampshade you can use scraps of fabric, washi tape, yarn, lace or ribbon. There are many ways to wrap the frame but the easiest by far is to wrap a layer of double-sided tape around the frame before you wrap the fabric. This holds the fabric in place. Secure the end with a sticky glue dot or blob of hot glue. Bear in mind that you need to use a CFL or energy efficient globe if you plan to use the shade on a lamp.
