Beautiful ice cream cone flowers

If you are planning a party, event or special occasion, these fabulous ice cream cone flowers are just the thing for adding a splash of colour. The flowers are made of colourful paper and a sugar cone is wrapped with striped paper.

YOU WILL NEED:

Sugar cone
Craft knife and cutting mat
Glue gun
Scissors
skewers
Coloured paper for flowers
Green paper for leaves
Striped paper for cone covers

 

 

HERE'S HOW:

Draw a squirly square shape about 5cm wide and 4cm tall. You’ll need about 11 petals in total.

Start the centre of the rose by making a tube shape with one petal and glue together. Squeeze the ends of another petal and surround and glue to the centre. Repeat on the other side of the centre as if hugging the centre petal. Continue adding 5 more petals around the center with each layer becoming looser.

With the 3 remaining petals, curl the base of the petal with a pencil and glue it to the bottom of the flower so that the curled part comes out at the top.

Cut the striped paper on a diagonal to fit around the cone. Wrap it around the cone and secure it with double-sided tape.

Glue gun the skewer to the inside of your flower and hold in place until dry. Cut out leaves from the green paper and roll them around a pencil to create shape. Dab some glue onto the tip of the leaf and attach to the cone paper.
