Framed chalkboard with Rust-Oleum
Add a framed chalkboard to your laundry and chalk up your shopping list. A rather cheap, plastic picture frame is transformed into a practical chalkboard.

YOU WILL NEED:
Frame - any frame will do, but if you can find an affordable plastic one - even better!
Rust-Oleum chalkboard - tin or spray
Rust-Oleum 2X white spray paint - satin or gloss
Rust-Oleum spray primer
Paint tray and foam roller
Disposable gloves
HERE'S HOW:
Step 1
Remove the glass from the frame - be very careful when doing this and make a note of which direction is facing out of the frame. The frame is cut to fit only one way so you don't want to paint the wrong side of the glass. The glass is very thin and fragile.
GOOD TO KNOW: Make sure you're in a well ventilated area and begin the spraying process.
Step 2
For the glass, just lightly dust the surface with spray primer, but make sure it is entirely covered.
Step 3
After the primer on the glass has dried, roll the roller in the paint a few times until there is a light, even, covering of paint on the roller. Lightly apply it to the glass, painting with vertical strokes until it is covered. Let it dry completely (about 4 hours) until you apply the next coat.
Step 4
Two coats of the white gloss spray paint were applied to the frame.
