Back to school homework board

Home-Dzine - Make a task board that the kids (and parents) can use to keep track of what needs to be done on a daily basis for chores and homework.

Before you know it, the kids will be back at school (phew!) I stumbled across this lovely project for a task board that the kids (and parents) can use to keep track of what needs to be done on a daily basis. What a great idea!

YOU WILL NEED:

Memo boards

Craft paint

Paintbrushes and foam rollers

Ribbon and decorative trim

Sticki Dots

Craft scissors

Plenty of newspaper

HERE'S HOW:

1. Paint each memo board in a different colour. It's nice to let the kids choose their own colours to personalise their boards. Pour a small amount of craft paint into a tray, or onto a small plate, and let the kids roll on the paint.

GOOD TO KNOW
Make sure that you cover countertops and tables with plenty of newspaper.

2. Use a printer and clear self-adhesive paper to print out tasks. If you can't source clear self-adhesive paper, use any sticky paper, or print on plain paper and stick onto the board.

3. Wrap the memo boards with strips or decorative ribbon and trim and use Sticki Dots to fasten everything in place. Each child can decorate their own unique memo board - they can even use a few scrapbooking embellishments for an extra special touch.

4. Cut out or buy pre-cut vinyl circles for each task board.

If you use a whiteboard marker you can tick or cross off each task and then wipe clean for the next week.
