Upcycle a lamp for an inexpensive way to give your decor a boost.

In this project we show you how easy it can be to upcycle a cheap lamp into your own quirky creation. We're using acrylic craft paint for the scrap wood battens for our upcycled lamp.
1. Start by removing all the existing material on the lampshade, so that you have a bare wire frame.
2. Trim your wood battens to size using a saw. Lightly sand to remove any rough edges and then paint in your choice of colour.
GOOD TO KNOW: Choose colours that complement the decor already in the room where the lamp will be placed.
3. Use a hot glue gun to secure the painted battens onto the wire frame. If you're going for a look that is similar to ours, vary the height and colour of the battens around the frame.
