Turn any surface into a chalkboard
Now you can use any of the Rust-Oleum 2X satin colours and turn any item into a chalkboard using Rust-Oleum Matte Finish spray.
Here in South Africa we only have access to Rust-Oleum Chalkboard spray in black, but with the easy method shown below you can now transform any surface painted with Rust-Oleum 2X satin spray paint into a chalkboard surface. This is great news for moms, as you can now paint furniture, cupboards or boards in colourful hues and apply the matt finish to create a chalkboard.
There is no special method for this project. All you need to do is apply two coats of Rust-Oleum 2X satin spray paint to the surface. Allow sufficient drying time between coats. Once completely dry, spray on two coats of Rust-Oleum Matte spray, again allowing drying time between coats.
You will find the full range of Rust-Oleum products at your local Builders Warehouse. If they don't have this product on the shelf, ask them to stock it for you.
To show you how well this method works I did a repeat project below to write, wipe off, and write again - over and over.
Obviously, this method works better with darker spray paint colours, if you are using white chalk. But you can use coloured chalk on other paint colours.
