The Moon Crib comes to Life Again
Quite a few years ago we featured an article on the moon crib - a fairytale moon-shaped crib for a baby was doing it's rounds across the Internet and we gave it a go.
Quite a few readers have made the moon crib and we would like to share the most recently project submission. There are no instructions for making the moon crib and it's mostly a case of giving it a try for yourself. Francois submitted pics for the moon crib here made for his cousin's new baby.
He used 21mm shutterply to make the moon crib and cut out a circle shape using a template and router. "It is actually a very easy task that took me all of about a half an hour to draw and cut the frame." says Francois.
The materials for making the moon crib came in below R1000, which is fairly reasonably when you think what it would cost to buy the moon crib in any home store.
Francois also added a couple of extra features such as a starlight roof,
a rope edging
and some extra railing for the baby.
You can still buy the moon crib from French manufacturer, Creme Anglaise, at a cost of just under R13,000!
