Beautiful bedrooms to copy
Not everyone has the knack for choosing colour and selecting a design for a bedroom, so we've picked out some of our favourite designs that you can copy in your own bedroom.
Sensational stripes - that visually widen a small bedroom - in shades of lilac, aubergine and silver create the perfect backdrop for this bed setting.
Dark brown slatted bed frame and bedside tables can be sprayed with Rust-Oleum Painters Touch in Heirloom White, for a not quite white finish that blends in beautifully. Complete the look with a storage ottoman at the foot of the bed for all your bed linen and essentials. If you don't know how to make one, sign up for one of our DIY-Divas.co.za workshops and we'll show you how!
Be creative with stencils and paint. Use a small and large design - equally placed on either side of the headboard - to create an illusion of height in a bedroom with a low ceiling.

Sunny and bright. Use 16mm Supawood to create a headboard with design cut-outs (that you can easily do with a jigsaw), and then paint it with wood primer and spray with Rust-Oleum Painters Touch - Espresso.
Add a decorative shelf above the bed (a simple floating shelf design) and top off with the favourite photographs. On the wall behind the bed, paint a sunny yellow colour and use white acrylic paint to apply an attractive stencil design in white or cream. You can buy pre-cut stencils or make your own.
This feminine bedroom is dressed in lilac and white with a few soft, sage green and magenta accents on the bed, in the fabric on the headboard, as well as the dressing table. Two smaller
storage ottomans replace the longer single version and the bedside tables have been replaced with practical storage shelves. Follow a basic cube design to make the storage shelves, and pop in shelf pins for adjustable shelving that can be arranged to suit whatever you store.
