Over the long weekend there will be an abundance of festive Easter feasts available at the Spier wine farm in Stellenbosch. The weekend offers so many delicious ways to spend family time together as well. Or make a weekend out of it and stay at the Spier Hotel and receive a complimentary bottle of wine.
Partake in simple and delicious delights
Pack up your family and head on out to Spier to try out the Easter specials. They have planned assorted Easter events and activities on over the weekend. Partake in a breakfast with a delicious hot cross bun French toast; for lunch, treat yourself to Cape Malay pickled fish with grilled sourdough and salad. Close by, if you are still hungry, there will be a stall where you can purchase spit-roasted lamb rolls. And for those who are still peckish, pop into the Vadas Smokehouse and Bakery and try out the hot cross buns and other special Easter treats that are available for you to take home.
Classic Easter Sunday Lunch
On Sunday 12 April the entire family can enjoy a festive feast. The Spier Hotel will feature classic meals such as roasted chicken, roasted prime rib on the bone, and slow-braised lamb along with fish in chive lemon butter and charred broccoli. Side dishes include freshly baked farm bread, traditional pickled fish and an array of salads. For dessert, there’ll be a hot cross bun bread & butter pudding, berry pavlovas, milk tarts and an assortment of ice creams.
Prices are: R395 per adult and R200 (6-12), Free for children under 6.
Traditional Easter Sunday Picnic
Join your family or friends for a relaxing feast under Spier’s ancient oaks on Easter Sunday. Each basket will feature a variety of farm favourites such as a lamb and mint pie, spiced chicken drumsticks, cheese and crackers and a variety of gourmet salads. Save room for the hot cross buns and Easter eggs!

Let the kids enjoy an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt
On Sunday 12 April, sit back and relax in the shade with a cool glass of wine, and send the kids on an Easter egg treasure hunt adventure. Once you discover all the clues you will be rewarded with a bundle of delicious chocolate eggs to take home.

Visit the Spier Tasting Room for much-loved dishes, and where you can enjoy a selection of canapés. These handcrafted canapés bring a sense of nostalgia to Spier's Easter offering and are sure to prompt a touch of whimsy. Each is artfully paired with four delicious Spier wines. Taking the kids along? Let them enjoy a grape juice tasting and decorate an Easter biscuit.
