Tuscany, without a doubt, tops bucket lists all across the world for a reason. Besides the absolutely heavenly wines produced in this utterly lush land, the beautiful Italian region offers adventures so unique and heart-pleasing like no other place on Earth. Here are some of the things that could make you admit to yourself that Tuscany is, indeed, a love for a lifetime.
1. Mind-blowing Florence
A quintessential Italian city and one of the most treasured ones in the world for art. Names like Da Vinci, Botticelli, and Michelangelo are synonymous with Renaissance art and have contributed to nicknaming Florence as the Cradle of the Renaissance. You can head to Galleria dell’Accademia and view Michelangelo’s David, while many works of other renowned artists are hosted in the Uffizi Gallery. While here, you can pamper yourself with fantastic city views from Piazzale Michelangelo or even opt for a guided tour around the city and see (and learn much about) star attractions like the Duomo.
2. Simply unforgettable food
Inherently unpretentious and utterly delicious, Tuscan food is based mostly on local ingredients produced and grown in the Tuscany region. Besides, of course, pasta, you may also try tasty soups like Ribolleta and Pappa al Pomodoro, wood-oven baked bread staples, meat dishes (i.e., Bistecca alla Fiorentina), and unique Tuscan flavours like handmade spaghetti, cannellini beans, and ribollita.
Needless to say, don’t leave without giving your taste buds the pleasure of tasting gelato and wash it off with any of the fine wines produced here, including the Super Tuscans and Chianti Classicos.

3. Superb amounts of adventure
Although a primarily cultural destination, Tuscany is ideal for those wishing to have their share of (adventurous) fun. The land here is perfect for long hikes in the mountains, bike tours through the countryside, private hot air balloon rides, scuba diving, paragliding, and so many more! And, let’s not forget the hot springs of Saturnia, Petriolo, Bagni San Filippo, and Bagno Vignoni that offer spa-like experiences and incredibly relaxing (and even therapeutic) moments.

4. 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Tuscany is perhaps the only region in the world that is home to not only one but seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites! From nature reserves and parks to places of particular historical interest dating back to the Bronze Era, Tuscany is every history buff’s dream come true. You can structure a trip around Tuscany and visit the Square of Miracles in Pisa, the historic Florence centre, Pienza, and the other popular protected sites.

5. Enchanting countryside
Tuscany is blessed with acres and acres of flourishing land, offering opportunities to enjoy yourself, relax, and rejuvenate in many different ways. You can, for example, start a road trip across the countryside and go through Siena, Florence, and other scenic places and urban areas. The fact that Tuscany has a relatively low population density eases driving (which can be absolutely crazy in Italy), enabling pleasurable experiences. Dotted with charming villages, endless vineyards, cypress forests, lakes, rivers, and, of course, a hypnotising coast, a Tuscan road trip (even an off-the-beaten-path one) is definitely an incredibly rewarding adventure to go after.
