Quick Tip: Remove sticky tape from tiles (or carpets)

Sticky tape can be a mission to remove... from anything! But with WD-40 you can remove sticky tape easily from tiles and carpets.

I needed to remove a large rug from my spare room and it was stuck down with carpet tape to stop it from sliding around. After lifting the rug I was left with long strips of sticky tape all over the floor.

Sticky tape can be a mission to remove, especially when it's carpet tape and has lots of tack (sticky). You can spend time scrubbing it off, or you can grab a can of WD-40 and scrape it off with ease. Me, I prefer the easiest method, so WD-40 it is!

Simply apply a liberal spray of WD-40 over the sticky tape and let it sit for about a minute. The WD-40 dissolves the adhesive and makes it easier to scrape off. I'm using a steel scraper, but it is far better to use a plastic scraper, especially if you are removing sticky tape from a carpet.

Once all the tape is removed, clean as you would normally clean your tiles or carpet.
