Here are some household pests that you should get rid of when they make an appearance in your home or garden.

It is always lovely when the weather begins to warm up again, and you can put winter clothes back into storage. However, when things start to warm up, you can be sure that all of the pests that bugged you last summer will be back. Here are some of the household pests that you should get rid of when they make an appearance in your home or garden.

Spiders (inside the house)

There is no need to worry about a few spiders making webs in your garden shed, but you do want to be on the lookout for dangerous species, such as the brown recluse spider and the black widow spider. These nasty critters are about the size of a paper clip but pack venom that is fifteen times more lethal than a rattlesnake.

Bees and Wasps

If you see bees, wasps, or hornets making a hive in your garden or under the eaves of your house, then call in the experts immediately. They might pollinate your flowers, but if they sting a family member, there could be serious health risks involved. This is because these insects often sting in unison.

It may seem like a good idea to knock the hive down with a stick or spray it with bug repellant, but please don't. If you want to be safely rid of a potential beehive, then call in a pest control expert to handle matters. They can remove the queen bee carefully and relocate her to a place far away in a rural area.

Rats and Mice

Vermin carry disease and are extremely difficult to get rid of without professional help. When you do hire a pest control specialist to get rid of them for you, remember to insist that a follow-up visit is included in the quote. This assurance is important as there is always a nest or two of baby mice or rats that grow up and are ready to take the place of their parents in a week or so after the first eradication.

Bed Bugs

If you want to bring in a suitcase or packing boxes into your house from an outside storage facility, then have them fumigated before you carry them into the house. This process is always best if you want to be sure no bed bugs can come in hitching a ride on the storage boxes.

Bed bugs can breed in astonishing numbers in storage rooms because they don't irritate anyone there. They are carried into the house on a box or suitcase and immediately scuttle into couches, mattresses, and closets. It's far better to call a pest company to fumigate the packing equipment before it enters your home.
