A beautiful landscaped garden for entertaining family and friends

Winter is the perfect time to action any changes you want to make to your garden, or put in a pool. It allows the garden and pool time to settle in and be ready for the summer months.

Our beautiful climate offers homeowners the opportunity to entertain outdoors as well as indoors, and it makes sense to landscape your garden to suit your individual needs. While you may not choose to install a pool, as a place the relax after a hard day at work or to entertain family and friends, a garden needs to be well designed and planted up.

Municipal approval of plans is required if you are adding a pool, or any alteration that affects the existing layout of your property, or is attached to the existing property - in this case the additional covered patio or pergola.

The easiest way to start the process if you plan to do-it-yourself is to get in touch with a draughtsman or architectural designer to discuss what you want. These guys have plenty of experience with designs.

A draughtsman will be able to assist on smaller projects, such as adding on a pergola or patio, building a deck, and minor modifications or alterations to your home.

Use an architectural designer for structural alterations and modifications, such as adding on an extension, knocking down load-bearing walls, incorporating an extra bathroom and so on.

If you plan to overhaul the garden, then a garden landscaper might be a good idea, especially if you want to incorporate a fair amount of hardscaping or a pool. Utilising a landscaper means that all the 'hard' work is organised for you and all you have to do it sit back, relax and wait for the finished result.
