Versatile Cubes
For me personally, the cube has to be the next most famous discovery after the wheel! There are so many uses for this basic shape in DIY. It's easy to make in any size that you want, or any material, and can be used for countless DIY projects.
YOU WILL NEED:
[4] pieces of wood of the same length and width
Wood screws
Drill, drill bit, countersunk
Bosch PSR Cordless screwdriver
Alcolin Wood Glue
Alcolin Wood Filler
Sandpaper (180-grit)
HERE'S HOW:
1. Pre-drill and countersink all holes before assembly to make the process a lot easier. Arrange the sides as shown in the illustration.
2. Assemble using wood glue and wood screws. Apply wood glue to all the sides to be screwed together. Lay the pieces on their sides and assembly two pieces at one time to create the cube.
3. Use wood filler to fill in the holes and leave this to dry before lightly sanding to a smooth surface. Don't overdo the sanding.
4. Finish off your cube with paint, varnish or sealer, depending upon the material used.
Using the basic cube principle, you can undertake DIY projects around the home.
