You should be able to find wooden pallets at larger stores that receive bulk deliveries, or online on sites such as www.gumtree.co.za or www.junkmail.co.za. Prices will vary depending on the quality and size of the pallets, but many stores will gladly let you take a couple of pallets for free or at a small cost. 

When working with wooden pallets it is important to do it right. It's safety first when cutting pallets, so be sure to remove any nails that will interfere with the cutting process to cut the pallets down to size or to shape them.
