Polka dot painted walls and furniture

Decorating a nursery or children's bedroom can be fun... if you have a dash of creative ability. But if you don't you will love this project. This beautiful nursery is decorated in shades of pale blue and pink, with splashes of white and magenta polka dots.

Pop into your local Builders Warehouse and ask for colour cards for Plascon Double Velvet to choose the colours you want to use for a nursery or children's bedroom. You will need paint for the walls, as well as 1 litre tins of paint for the polka dots.

HERE'S HOW:

1. Cut a sponge ball in half. You want the sponge balls used for fun in a swimming pool). Use a sharp craft knife for a clean cut edge. As an alternative you can cut the end off a foam sponge pool noodle.

2. Pour your polka dot colours onto small plates.

3. Lightly dab the sponge ball into the first colour and gently dab onto the wall. Repeat for as many dots as you like.

4. Rinse the ball in clean water before moving onto the next colour choice.
