I will always love Rust-Oleum spray paint simply because it is the best out there and there are many ways to use spray paint in the home.

I have been using Rust-Oleum spray paints ever since they were launched in South Africa. Originally, I was part of the team to do comparative tests against other local spray paints to establish their reputation, and it was well-earned. Since then, I have continued to use Rust-Oleum spray paints for so many projects and, despite the fact that they are slightly more pricey than other products - you get what you pay for!

Christmas is just a couple of months away and I thought now would be a great time to toss in a couple of Christmas crafts using spray paint but there are so many other ways to use spray paint both indoors and outdoors. For this article, I am focusing on the Rust-Oleum metallic range, which offers everything from silver to titanium in gloss or hammered finish so that you have plenty of time to get to Builders and stock up on what you need for your next project. Enjoy!

Spray Paint Centrepieces

Everyone knows how difficult it is to find the perfect centrepiece, especially for weddings and special celebrations. Why worry when you can recycle everyday waste and turn it into a magical centrepiece with Rust-Oleum metallic gold, silver or other metallic finish to create the perfect centrepiece for your table at a fraction of the cost? Just make sure to clean and dry the item before painting, cover the work area with a drop cloth or newspaper, and allow drying time between coats. It's as easy as that.

Spray Paint a Christmas Table

Accessories for a Christmas dining table are expensive. Still, if you choose the perfect accessories, you can re-use these year after year by simply spraying them in a colour that complements your dining table decor. Using a metallic colour against a monochromatic colour palette creates a chic setting that catches your attention.

Design Unique Festive Decorations

Now that you already have a can or two of Rust-Oleum metallic spray paint, be inspired to make your own festive decorations. This celestial stars wall hanging would look festive hung on a wall and you only need a wooden dowel and pre-cut star shapes for the wall hanging. Add the finishing touch with different matt and metallic spray paints.

Metallic Decor Accessories for the Home

With metallic spray paint, you don't need to spend a fortune on expensive home decor accessories. Shop for inexpensive items that can be transformed with metallic spray paint and would be a perfect finishing touch for any room in the home. Think plastic or galvanised buckets, cheap plastic tumblers or even glass containers and give them a coat or two of your favourite metallic finish.

Spray Paint Makeover for Furniture

Furniture does not have to have a limited lifespan because it becomes dated or damaged; there is always an opportunity to give furniture a makeover or a brand-new look with spray paint and you get to choose the finish you want. Metallic finishes add an elegant look to vintage or antique furniture and a chic look to more modern designs. And then there is the possibility of making furniture for your home - with a dash of metallic finishing.

Rather than have to replace dated or worn furniture, use spray paint to give it a new lease on life. Rust-Oleum offers a selection of metallic finishes for indoor and outdoor furniture and almost every material.

Home Office Update

Give your home office an update with a few metallic touches here and there. Metallic silver perfectly complements a home office decorated in hues of grey while you can add to the warmth of wood furniture with metallic gold, copper or bronze spray paint. Use spray paint on glass, plastic, ceramic, wood, steel, concrete and more.
