Andrew Donkin takes you step-by-step through the process of making a box for a Christmas tree. Designed to accommodate any size of tree stand or bucket, this pine box is made using PAR pine that you can buy at any Builders Warehouse. Plus you can select your own finish to match the decor in your home.

 

 

YOU WILL NEED:

1 sheet of laminated pine 20 x 530 x 2400mm, cut to

- 1 of 360 x 360mm - base

8 of 460 x 40mm - diagonal slats, long

4 of 438 x 50mm - horizontal slats, long

4 of 399 x 59mm - horizontal slats, short

4 of 400 x 380mm - panels

8 of 300 x 50mm - vertical slats

4 x 30 and 40mm screws

Wood glue

Choice of finish

TOOLS:

Drill / Driver plus assorted bits

Saw or mitre saw, or jigsaw

Tape measure and pencil

Have all the timber cut to size at Builders Warehouse. Simply take along the list of supplies and let them cut everything for easy assembly at home.

Fired Earth Wood Works covers approximately 7-9 m² / litre per coat - depending on the type of substrate and the surface porosity. Wood Works is touch-dry in 4 hours.

Clean up is quick and easy for all paintbrushes , paint rollers and spray equipment. While still wet, wash in warm soapy water, rinse clean and then dry.
