10-minute pencil holder for school supplies

Use a large branch and your Bosch drill / driver to make this 10-minute pencil holder that is perfect for keeping a study desk neat and organised.

YOU WILL NEED:

Tree stump or large branch offcut 20cm high and 20cm wide

Compass

Pencil

Wood chisel or large flathead screwdriver

Drill / Driver and 8mm wood bit

Sander and 180-grit sandpaper

HERE'S HOW:

Prepare your stump by using a wood chisel or flathead screwdriver to remove the outer layer of bark.

1. Begin by marking the positions for the holes on the stump that will serve as the pencil holders. To ensure even distribution of the holes, use a compass to draw two circles around the centre of the wood, one larger and one smaller. Now you can mark drill holes approximately 20mm apart along these circles.

2. Use your drill / driver and 8mm wood bit to drill holes 40mm to 50mm deep.

3. After drilling the holes smooth any rough edges with your sander and 180-grit sandpaper.
