This pair of vintage steel garden chairs are given a new lease on life with Rust-Oleum Stops Rust spray paint. It just seems a shame to toss out something that has so much history and looks oh so pretty. Plus, these chairs are so old they are definitely two of a kind!

YOU WILL NEED:

Steel or wrought-iron pieces to transform

120-grit sandpaper

Rust-Oleum Stops Rust in your choice of colour

HERE'S HOW:

1. Although this pair of steel chairs has been well looked after, they still need some preparation before they are ready to be painted. The first step is to use the wire brush to remove any loose material, such as peeling paint, dirt and rust, from the pieces.

2. Once you have cleaned the chair, wash the furniture thoroughly with soapy water. It there are any grease or oil stains, use a degreaser to wash. Rinse with clean water and dry.

 

 

3. Select your choice of Rust-Oleum Stops Rust protective enamel spray paint colour. These paints are excellent for use on steel, metal or wrought iron furniture and feature a built-in primer and rust inhibitor.

4. For long-lasting results and maximum protection, spray a few light, even coats, allowing the paint to dry in between coats. Allow the new paint to cure as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.
