Colourful Clay Coasters

Make a set of colourful coasters using air-dry clay and Sharpie pens. Easy to make, you can make them for yourself - or as a gift.

I love these colourful coasters. Inspired by the coasters on the Hobbycraft Blog, I decided to make my own coasters using air-dry clay and a curvy cookie cutter.

YOU WILL NEED:

Air-dry clay

Sharpie pens - 4 colours

Rolling pin

Cutting board

Cling wrap

Cookie cutter

Prominent Paint clear acrylic sealer or ModPodge

HERE'S HOW:

1. Cover your cutting board with cling wrap to make it easier to remove the clay once rolled. Use a rolling pin to roll out the clay - to a thickness of about 3 to 4mm.

2. Cut out the shape with a cookie cutter.

3. Apply 3 coats of clear acrylic sealer to the entire coaster. This prevents any bleed from the Sharpie pen and reduces wear on the pen tip. The sealer coat also protects the coasters from spills. Let this dry.

4. Use a colourful Sharpie pen to draw your design onto each coaster - and that's all!
