BBQ pork ribs

I have noticed how expensive bbq pork ribs have become when buying from my local supermarket. Here's an easy way to make your own bbq sauce for pork ribs.

 

Ingredients:

1 kg pork ribs
4 cm piece ginger, grated
2 spring onions, finely chopped
60 ml honey
60 ml bovril
2 cloves garlic, crushed
Grated zest and juice of 1 lemon
45 ml olive oil
30 ml freshly chopped thyme
125 ml tomato sauce

Directions:

Mix the ginger, spring onions, honey, Bovril, garlic, lemon zest and juice, oil, thyme and tomato sauce together. Boil for 5 minutes and pour hot over ribs. Leave to cool. Place in a sealable plastic bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Braai over medium to hot coals while basting frequently with the marinade.

Also delicious on chicken portions or pork chops.
