How to make a selection of quick and delicious chocolate mug cakes

Nutella Mug Cake

YOU WILL NEED:

4 tablespoons self raising flour

4 tablespoons white castor sugar

1 egg

3 tablespoons cocoa powder

3 tablespoons Nutella

3 tablespoons milk

3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil

Makes 1 very large serving.

HERE'S HOW:

1. Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug. Whisk well with a fork until smooth. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 – 3 minutes. (*Time depends on microwave wattage. Mine took 1 /2 minutes.) Top with whipped cream and a little chocolate sauce if desired.

2. Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Enjoy!

 

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Mug Cake

YOU WILL NEED:

1 egg

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1/3 cup of self raising flour

1 tablespoon of softened butter

3 tablespoons mini chocolate chips

HERE'S HOW:

1. Crack an egg into your mug.

2. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top of this.

3. Toss in 1/3 cup of flour and a tablespoon of softened butter and top off with mini chocolate chips.

4. Mix everything together with a spoon.

5. Microwave for 1 1/2-2 minutes, or just until the top centre of the mixture has set.

Serve with a dollop of ice cream and enjoy!

 

Chocolate Fluffernutter Mug Cake

YOU WILL NEED:

4 tablespoons sugar

4 tablespoons self-raising flour

3 tablespoons cocoa powder

3 tablespoons melted butter

3 tablespoons peanut butter

3 tablespoons milk

1 egg

Mini marshmallows for topping

HERE'S HOW:

1. Add all ingredients into a large mug and mix very well with a fork.

2. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 to 3 minutes. You can tell it is done when rises and settles. This cake is suppose to be gooey - not runny.

3. Top with melted marshmallows.

 

Gooey Chocolate Mug Cake

YOU WILL NEED:

1 egg

1/4 cup castor sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa powder 

HERE'S HOW:

1, Crack the egg into the mug and add castor sugar and cocoa powder.

2. Whisk together with a small whisk until well mixed.

3. Microwave for 50 - 60 seconds, until the cake is cooked through.

4. Top immediately with a handful of milk chocolate chips, hot fudge, whipped cream, or ice cream.

 

Strawberries and Cream Mug Cake

YOU WILL NEED:

1 egg

2 tablespoons strawberry yoghurt, stirred

1 tablespoon Canola oil

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 - 5 drops vanilla extract

4 tablespoons sugar

5 tablespoons all-purpose flour

fresh sliced strawberries and whipped cream for topping

Non-stick cooking spray

HERE'S HOW:

1. Coat the inside of the mug lightly with cooking spray and set aside.

2. Mix the egg, yoghurt, Canola oil, baking powder, vanilla extract, sugar and flour in a small bowl until completely smooth.

3. Fill the mug to halfway full and place it in the microwave. Bake it for 3 to 4 mintues, or until a cake tester comes out clean.

4. Top with strawberries and whipped cream and serve. 

 

Chocolate Peanut Butter Mug Cake

YOU WILL NEED:

1 egg

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 tablespoon peanut butter

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon cocoa

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

handful of chocolate chips

HERE'S HOW:

1. In a small bowl, stir the egg, brown sugar, peanut butter, flour, cocoa and baking powder with a fork.

2. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour batter into a greased mug.

3. Microwave for 1 minute.

 

Chocolate Salted Caramel Mug Cake

YOU WILL NEED:

4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

4 tablespoons sugar

3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg, beaten

3 tablespoons skim milk

1 tablespoon Canola oil

2 salted caramels

HERE'S HOW:

1. In a small bowl mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt, egg, milk, and Canola oil.

2. Pour mixture into a regular sized coffee mug. Drop caramels into centre of mixture one at a time.

3. Microwave on high for one minute and 30 seconds. If needed - if cake batter is still gooey - microwave on high for up to an additional 30 seconds.

Gluten-Free Mug Brownie

YOU WILL NEED:

1/4 cup gluten-free flour

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Pinch salt

2 tablespoon canola oil

2 tablespoon milk, coffee or water

HERE'S HOW:

1. In a mug stir together the dry ingredients until no lumps remain.

2. Stir in the oil and milk until you have a thick paste.

3. Microwave on high for a minute, checking it after 30 seconds - it will be done when it’s springy on top but still a bit gooey.

Eat warm.

*You may have to increase cooking time, depending on the wattage of your microwave.
