Dealing with household pests

We all experience occasional problems with ants and roaches. The recent spate of hot, humid weather has enticed more than a few of these insects into our home. Efekto have launched a range of ant and roach traps and baits that effectively - and safely - control these home pests.

Most ants that venture into the home are worker ants. Their sole function is that of collecting food for the queen and the other ants in the colony. The bait used in the AnTrap® attracts the ants into the AnTrap®, which they collect and carry it back to the queen and her brood. In this way, the entire colony will be controlled over a period of time.

Simply place the AnTrap in the path of the ants close to the nest entrance, securing the trap in such a way that it cannot be displaced by accident i.e. place a brick or heavy object on top of the trap and then leave in place for up to 2 months, even if no ants appear. If the infestation is strong, use more traps, replacing them every 3 – 4 weeks

Aero Roach Bait is a ready-to-use insecticide bait station for the control of cockroaches. As with the AnTrap, the roach bait is placed in areas where roaches tend to appear - such as under the sink and in pantries, etc.

Open the access holes to the bait station by twisting the top to the left. Place bait stations where cockroaches have been seen. Do not use sprays or aerosols around the bait stations as this will reduce effectiveness. Bait stations will be most effective when placed horizontally touching walls or corners.

Ensure that you keep your home as clean as possible, especially where ants have appeared before. Use tea tree oil or a mixture of peppermint and water and a spray bottle to wipe areas clean where ants or roaches tend to frequently appear.

SAFETY FIRST:

When using any pest repellant or bait products, make sure you read the labels and ensure that these products are kept out of reach of children and pets.
